Lorna Hainesworth
Lewis and Clark Trust, Inc. (founding member)
Lorna Hainesworth is a researcher and writer focused on the Eastern Legacy of the Lewis and Clark Expedition: the people, routes, and preparations east of the Mississippi that made the journey west possible. A founding member of the Lewis and Clark Trust, Inc., she has written extensively on figures such as surveyor Andrew Ellicott and on the historic roads and waterways of the early republic, publishing through Lornament Press. Her articles trace the expedition's connections to the National Road, the Cumberland Gap, the Baltimore-to-Cumberland turnpikes, and the Corps of Discovery's service in the War of 1812.
