Tent of Many Voices
Historical interpreter and actress Joyce Badgley Hunsucker, who has Cherokee and Lakota ancestry, performs as Sacagawea, a Shoshone woman, recounting her capture by Hidatsa raiders, enslavement, marriage to fur trader Toussaint Charbonneau, and her crucial role as translator and guide on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The presentation spans her birth people's territory, the winter at Fort Mandan, the difficult journey westward, and her reunion with her brother Cameahwait.
