Monday May the 14th 1804. showerey. Capt. Clark and our party set out from River Dubois about 3 oClock P.m. the party consisted of 3 sergeants and 38 men which manned the Batteaux and 2 perogues. we fired our swivel hoisted sail and set out in high spirits. we entered the mouth of the Missourie and sailed about 6 miles and camped on the North Side.
