Mary Jane Charlo, Native Adventures manager for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, demonstrates Salish language names and sign language for animals encountered on the Lewis and Clark expedition. She shares cultural teachings about animal traits, vision quests, and traditional practices, including a story about a slow young man helped by a mouse. Charlo also describes a planned powwow celebration of Salish diplomacy and hospitality in the Bitterroot Valley.
